1) Any reason not to load first frame from map animation instead? I don't see any reason to split it in 2 parts as in H3. 
: in first cadre you will see hero`s ass. :) 3rd cadre is more suitable. (In fact editor def is exactly 3dr cadre)

2) IIRC these flags are always in the same position? Don't see any need to implement this right now (but yeah - should be done at some point).
